Painting of Hannah

This painting was done over a couple of days and is the third portrait format watercolor I have done. I'm really pretty happy with the result... although I think Hannah looks older than 7 in the painting - I have no idea why, other than it could be in the colors used. I took the reference photo when we visited them in Edmonton back in 2006 - it seems like ages ago now.
Tomorrow I have my last painting class of the year. It is unbelievable how fast this year has gone!
I hope you are all enjoying the warm spring weather!

Hi Cheryl, This looks very high quality to me. Like a professional. I'm comparing it to all the watercolor done at the 45th annual Sister Kenny Art Exhibit here in Minneapolis. Hannah looks like my niece Kerri did when she was 7. She was quite muscular with very well defined facial features. The only way I know of to make features softer is to make them a little fuzzy like in soft focus with photography and then it makes older people younger too. Frank Elliott from Carepages

Thanks for looking in on my blog. I'm heading home from Colorado where I've been spending time with my Grandkids. Such great times - they are so precious. But, I am feeling the need for my own house and more SLEEP. I do okay on limiting my activity but I need more sleep.....
